We all get the same opportunity; 25(ish) our brains reach a new development phase, true self-awareness kicks in, depending on where we’re at already determines our start point in personal growth. Men/women/alien…nature vs nurture up to that point, then it’s all on us. We cannot underestimate the influence of trauma in childhood. That shit fucks people up. We can relearn, the neurons in our brain can change, regrow and evolve IF we introduce new to replace learned behaviour. Damage caused by abuse can be physically seen changing in our brains through experience of the opposite – love.

Trauma from parents keeps people in a childlike state, simply because they don’t have the opportunity to know any better. When we reach adulthood the lucky ones had a better than average set of parents who dealt (more so) with their own shit. And so grow more easily. Others who’s parents had perhaps neglected their shit and let it pass on less so.

Trauma defines. Gender, race, sexuality, beliefs…labels that confuse matters and take away from the only ‘label’ that actually matters – human.
